This study examined participant experiences with a police-social work co-response team (CIRT). Quantitative findings suggest that procedural justice is associated with positive participant perceptions of CIRT and other outcomes like the likelihood of seeking treatment. Qualitative themes offer insight into the key programmatic strengths and limitations identified by CIRT participants.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, attendees should be able to:
Describe how procedural justice influences participant engagement with crisis response services.
Evaluate the strengths of limitations of CIRT as reported by participants and analyze how they relate to findings from existing co-response literature.
Apply findings to inform crisis intervention strategies and social work-led advocacy for comprehensive crisis response services.
